Explore Japan’s rich culture, history, and daily life through a journey across Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nara. Discover the energy of modern Tokyo—from bullet trains and cherry blossoms to everyday life and cultural values—then travel to historic Kyoto to learn about Mt. Fuji, geisha traditions, samurai history, and breathtaking landmarks like the Golden Pavilion. In Nara, delve into ancient temples, the Great Buddha, Buddhist and Shinto beliefs, traditional meals, tea ceremonies, and classic arts such as origami and lacquerware.

This program will be presented by New Jersey native Gail Thompson, based on her personal trip to Japan in April 2024.
