A Message from Dayle Treece, Friends of the Library President
Volunteering is a Dying Art!
For more than 60 years, the Friends of the Mountainside Library have been fundraising to enhance our library's holdings, programming, and technology.
To continue making our library the wonderful, welcoming, community-centered place it is, we now need to enhance our organization. Please join us at our events. Meet new friends and enjoy the fun and camaraderie as you help us continue this legacy. We ask you to get involved. If you can't volunteer at our events, please consider making a donation.
And come to the library! There truly is something for everyone.

The Mountainside Library has counted on the Friends of the Library and our volunteers for more than 60 years. Did you know the Friends fund more than 90% of our Library's programs for children, adults, seniors, and families through our events and annual fundraising drive? We welcome new and long-time residents to join the fun by volunteering some of your time to help with events such as the Holiday Boutique in the fall, Make Me Chic Jewelry and Collectibles Boutique in early May, and our Fall and Spring Booksales. Teens looking for community service opportunities are invited to help out too.
Membership forms are available in our annual Fall Newsletter, online, and at the Library. You can reach us via email at
Here are a couple of our models previewing some typical merchandise from a recent sale. You can see that the Friends have fun!
